Reducing armed violence in the Bandiagara region

Overall objective

Helping to reduce armed violence and the impact of explosive ordnance on communities in the central Sahel.

Specific objectives

• Identify at-risk communities and behaviours through a context analysis, in order to adapt the explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) and small arms and light weapons (SALW) approach
• Improve communities’ knowledge of the explosive ordnance threat in order to reduce the associated risks and encourage behaviour change through risk education sessions
• Develop actions to prevent and reduce armed violence: conflict management and resolution, social cohesion, inter-community dialogue, preventing violent extremism and civil-military dialogue
